Allowing children to express gender identity does not harm children. Repression does

When clothing manufacturers first realised a century ago that they could sell more by gendering the colours of children’s clothes, they declared that “pink, being a more decided and stronger colour, is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl” (Earnshaw’s Infants’ Department trade magazine, 1918). For reasons unknown, they switched it around in the 1940s. I agree with feminists, and most sensible people, that gender labelling of colours is a sexist marketing ploy. So I despair when people falsely claim that simply because I’m a transgender person, I somehow must believe any boy who likes pink is really a girl. . http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/16384545.comment-allowing-children-to-express-gender-identity-does-not-harm-children-repressing-that-need-does/
