The National Theatre of Scotland production of Adam returns to Scottish stages – opening at the Beacon in Greenock from Fri 4th May and then going on to the Brighton Festival, Dundee and London later in the year. The play tells the story of a young trans man, Adam Kashmiry who flees from Egypt to Scotland in search of a place to call home. He arrives in a girl’s body as an asylum seeker in 2010- his story of struggle and transition was turned into a stage play and production by Frances Poet, Cora Bissett and NTS – he was cast in the role after an extensive search for an appropriate actor proved unsuccessful – he went on to win accolades and awards when he made his professional debut on the Traverse stage. . http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/16205014.Adam_returns_to_the_Scottish_stage/?ref=rss
