Devastated Owner’s Dog Abducted Outside Glasgow McDonald’s During Treat Run.

In a heart-wrenching incident, a beloved Doberman Cross named Link was taken from outside a McDonald’s in Glasgow while his owner was inside, purchasing a treat to reward his loyal companion. Alasdair Crawford, a city centre resident, has been frantically searching for his four-legged friend, who he considers his “rock” and support.

Alasdair shared his story with Glasgow Live, emphasizing the bond he shares with Link. “He’s been my rock for seven years. I’ve cared for him through sickness and health.” Link suffers from a rare genetic condition that requires extensive medical attention, and Alasdair ensures his companion receives the necessary care.

Dog Stolen Glasgow

The unfortunate event unfolded in Glasgow’s town centre on Sunday, as Alasdair stepped into the fast-food restaurant to grab some chicken nuggets for Link. A witness reported seeing a man untie the dog and flee towards King Street, where they both vanished from sight.

Desperate to find Link, Alasdair turned to social media for assistance. He created a post on the Facebook page “Lost Dogs in Glasgow,” pleading for help in locating his stolen dog. The post, which accumulated over 1,300 shares, included several pictures of the black and tan Doberman Cross and a dedicated phone line for tips: 07441451835.

Numerous individuals expressed their empathy and support in the comments section, wishing for a swift and safe reunion between Alasdair and Link. One user commented, “Really hope you get him back soon xx,” while another wrote, “Post shared. Keeping everything crossed you get your boy back. This is awful.”

Alasdair expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of support, stating, “Thank you for your kind words. I’m doing everything I can to bring the perpetrator to justice. Thank you for your support.”

A spokesperson for Police Scotland confirmed the ongoing investigation, stating, “Around 2.30am on Sunday, 16 April, we received a report of the theft of a dog in the Trongate area of Glasgow. Enquiries are ongoing.”
