New quiet grottos introduced at the Braehead store
As the chill of winter begins to set in across Glasgow, Dobbies Garden Centres, the UK’s leading garden centre retailer, is gearing up to spread some festive cheer. The Braehead store has officially opened bookings for its much-anticipated Christmas events, offering a magical experience for families and children alike.
The ever-popular Santa’s Grotto is making its return, promising to delight little ones with a journey through an enchanting outdoor woodland. Along the way, children can spot cheerful Christmas characters, building excitement before they finally meet Santa himself. Each child will receive a special gift to take home, and for those looking to capture the moment, there’s an option to purchase a professional photo as a keepsake.
New for 2021, Dobbies is introducing Quiet Grottos at 50 stores across the UK, including Braehead. This initiative, developed in partnership with Autism Together, is designed to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for children with additional needs. The Quiet Grottos will carefully consider sound and visual elements to help minimise anxiety, ensuring that every child can enjoy the magic of Christmas in a way that’s comfortable for them.
Michelle Walklett, Head of Autism Together’s Autism Training and Advisory Service, shared her enthusiasm for the collaboration: “As a specialist UK charity supporting autistic people, we’re pleased to be working with Dobbies in Braehead to help enhance their Christmas Grotto experience for visitors with autism and other sensory needs. Through this partnership, we’ll also be delivering autism awareness training for Santa and all his elves and helpers in time for the festive season.”
For families looking to start their day with a festive treat, Santa’s Breakfast offers a delightful morning experience. Guests can enjoy a hearty breakfast with options for both adults and children, followed by fun games and a visit from Santa. Each child will receive a special gift, making it a perfect outing for families with children aged 10 and under.
Sarah Murray, Partnership and Events Manager at Dobbies, emphasised the importance of these events: “At Dobbies, we want to offer families an opportunity to come together and make memories that last a lifetime. There truly is nothing more magical than Christmas for a child, and our range of events helps to bring the season to life for all the family.”
Dobbies’ Braehead Christmas events are now available to view online, with customers encouraged to book in advance to secure their spot. This year, there’s also an option to add a donation to the price of an event ticket, supporting Dobbies’ National Charity Partner, Teenage Cancer Trust.
