Many people often find themselves engaged in a relentless struggle to lose weight.
Adopting major lifestyle changes, such as embracing a healthy diet and regular exercise, is fundamental for those looking to shed pounds. However, crafting a robust routine that can sustain in the long term and bear effective results poses a formidable challenge.
Surprisingly, Weight Watchers, recently rebranded to WW, asserts they have pinpointed a unique approach that, while unrelated to diet or exercise, might expedite the weight loss process.
The esteemed firm undertook research, as reported by the Mirror, and discovered that when members kept people updated about their lifestyle adjustments, they saw more success in their weight loss endeavours. Documenting their routine and sharing it with friends and their online community elicited encouraging responses.
The research underscored that for over 50% of the subjects, the support of their weight loss peers was essential, significantly for modifying diet habits. Further, 53% felt motivated when they shared images of their healthy meals on social media.
WW’s marketing head, Claudia Nicholls, stressed: “It has always been proven that community support is critical in building and maintaining healthy routines; however, with the surge in online communities, it’s never been more accessible and cost-effective to leverage group support for inspiration and motivation.”
“Weight Watchers’ exclusive online community, Connect, with over 14,000 daily posts in the UK alone, provides our members with immediate access to a community of individuals on similar lifestyle journeys.”
Integrating small rituals like sharing photos rapidly fosters habits that prove hard to give up and these can wield transformative effects on our lives. They help mold our lifestyle, affect our emotions, and decisively influence the people we evolve into.”
