Calling all line dancers — and anyone who loves great music, good vibes, and a bit of a boogie. This Saturday, Glasgow’s Argyle Street Pedestrian Precinct will come alive with boots, beats, and big smiles as Maggie and her dancers host a special celebration for International Line Dance Flashmob Day.

For two full hours, the heart of the city will turn into an open-air dance floor, showcasing line dances old and new, all with a distinctly Scottish flavour. Expect a lively mix of routines set to music by Scottish artists, creating a feel-good afternoon that’s as much about community as it is about choreography.

What to expect on the day

Whether you’re a seasoned line dancer or you’ve only ever tapped your toes from the sidelines, this event is designed for everyone.

  • Two hours of non-stop line dancing celebrating Scotland’s music and dance culture.
  • A friendly, welcoming atmosphere for dancers of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Plenty of opportunities to watch, learn, and join in at your own pace.

One of the highlights of the afternoon will be the chance to take part in The Slosh, Scotland’s favourite party line dance. If you’ve ever wanted to join in but weren’t sure of the steps, this is your perfect opportunity to give it a go in a relaxed, supportive crowd.

Live Scottish music to keep you moving

No dance event would be complete without great live music, and this flashmob celebration has it in abundance. Performances on the day will include:

  • Kevin McGuire
  • Rosemill Kix
  • Erin Ponsonby

These Scottish artists will provide the soundtrack to the afternoon, keeping the energy high and the dance floor busy from start to finish.
