The short version
Some links on Glasgow News are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission. It doesn’t cost you any extra.
How it works
We’re a member of Awin, an affiliate network. A company that sells something, like parking or a hotel room, pays Awin when a sale comes from a link. Awin passes part of that to us.
When you click one of these links you go to Awin first, then on to the company’s site. Awin sets its own cookies to track the sale. You can read how Awin handles data in its privacy policy, and in our privacy policy.
How you’ll spot them
- Affiliate links sit in boxes labelled Ad. We don’t hide them in the text of a guide.
- The links are marked as paid for search engines, so they don’t count as an editorial recommendation.
- Sponsored features, where a business pays us, are labelled Sponsored.
This follows the UK advertising rules on affiliate marketing, set out by the Advertising Standards Authority.
Who we link to
We choose partners that fit what the page is about. That means parking, travel, hotels, removals and experiences. A partner can’t pay to change what we write or where we put things in a list.
What we don’t do
- We don’t run display ads.
- We don’t sell links that pass search ranking.
