Christmas Dinner in Glasgow 2026: Christmas Day and Festive Menus

Christmas table set with candles, crystal and gold chairs
A festive dining table decorated for Christmas with nutcracker figurines, black candles, and golden chairs, illuminated by a crystal chandelier and soft fairy lights.

Christmas Day dinner in Glasgow costs about £75 to £125 a head in 2026, going by the eight menus below that print a price. Children are £34.95 to £54 at most of them. Book now: Ho Wong’s three Christmas Day sittings and Hotel du Vin’s Christmas Day lunches were already full when we checked. If you only want a Christmas lunch or dinner in December, set menus start from £28.95 a head.

Last checked: 26 October 2026.

Every price below was read on the place’s own website on 26 October 2026 and is quoted as printed. Menus change, so check the page before you book. Some well-known places hadn’t published 2026 Christmas Day prices when we looked, so they’re not listed. We couldn’t find an East End place with a printed 2026 price, and the Southside list is two hotels just south of the city.

Booking tips

  • Book now for Christmas Day. Two of the places we checked were already full for 25 December on 26 October.
  • Deposits. Ho Wong takes £30 per person for Christmas Day and £10 per person for its December lunch. Mharsanta takes a £10 per person non-refundable deposit on all bookings and adds a 10% service charge. Most other pages don’t print a deposit, so ask when you book.
  • Kids. Children’s prices are printed at £34.95 to £35 at Òran Mór, Grosvenor Café, the Corinthian, the Redhurst and the Busby. Ho Wong is £54. The Redhurst and Busby count children as 12 and under.
  • Free fizz offers have ended. The Corinthian, Òran Mór and the Bothy had a free fizz deal for groups of six or more, but the booking deadlines were in September and October.
  • Not everywhere opens. Mharsanta says it’s closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Christmas Eve and Boxing Day

None of the pages above lists a separate Christmas Eve menu. The festive menus at Mharsanta, Gael and Grain, Ho Wong, Hotel du Vin and Malmaison all run to 24 December, so those are your Christmas Eve options.

For Boxing Day, Malmaison has a lunch on Saturday 26 December at £35 per person. Hotel du Vin lists Saturday 26 December under its festive lunches at £55 per person including a glass of Champagne. Want a bigger night out afterwards? Our Hogmanay guide covers New Year.

Getting home on Christmas Day

Buses and trains run a reduced service or none at all on Christmas Day, so plan the journey home before you book a late sitting. We couldn’t find a 2026 Christmas Day timetable from any of them on 26 October, and ScotRail’s page wouldn’t open for us.

  • Subway and SPT. SPT’s festive page looked like last year’s when we checked, because the Sunday dates on it match 2025. That version shows the Subway closed on 25 December, with last trains on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day leaving the city centre at 22:30. Don’t assume 2026 is the same until SPT updates it.
  • Buses. First Glasgow’s Glasgow page had no Christmas notice on 26 October, so check it nearer the day.
  • Trains. ScotRail posts its Christmas timetable on its Christmas page. Its site blocks automated checks and we couldn’t read it, so we can’t tell you what it says for 2026.
  • Taxis. The safest plan is a lift or a pre-booked taxi. Our taxi guide covers black cabs and apps. Our train guide has the station details.

Doing the markets before dinner? They’re on our Glasgow Christmas markets page, which lists what’s open and when. For the lights, Santa, pantos and shows, see our Christmas events guide, and for the rinks, our Christmas ice skating page.
