Celebratory Weekend in Store as Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity Shop Turns One

Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity is marking its store’s first anniversary at Buchanan Galleries with a celebratory weekend, featuring fashion shows, in-store offers and promotions, plus a big birthday party filled with family-friendly activities.

The charity opened its first bricks-and-mortar store at Buchanan Galleries on Saturday 24th September 2022 offering families high-quality, pre-loved baby and toddler clothing including hand-knitted items, along with larger products including cots and bouncers, all at affordable prices.

Since opening, the charity shop has expanded to include Scottish sustainable children’s clothing label, This Is Unfolded. The 10-piece collection offers fun and funky children’s clothes including tracksuits, dresses, and T-shirts, with 25% of every purchase being donated to Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity to help young patients and their families.

To commemorate its first anniversary, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity will be hosting a full weekend of celebrations on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th September for the public. In partnership with Buchanan Galleries and Aquarius Creative, a fashion show will be held on the Saturday, showcasing the store’s pre-loved collection along with the latest children’s fashion items. The first show will commence at 1pm, with the second showing at 2:30pm.

On Sunday, the public are invited to Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity shop for their Big Birthday Party providing a whole host of fun activities. Kids will be in for a treat with appearances from well-known characters, entertainers, as well as arts and crafts activities throughout the day. The store will also be offering a 20% discount off all transactions over the weekend.

They have been instrumental in our mission to make a real difference to the lives of children and families in Scotland’s busiest children’s hospital.”

The Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity shop is located on the first floor at Buchanan Galleries. The store is run by volunteers and is open Monday – Sunday from 10am – 4pm.
