No Away Fans Allowed: Celtic and Rangers Put Safety First for Old Firm Derbies.

The Old Firm derby between Celtic and Rangers is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated football fixtures on the planet. With a long-standing history of bitter rivalry and intense competition, it’s a game that always brings excitement and drama to the pitch.

This season, however, the two teams have made a surprising decision that may dampen the enthusiasm of some fans. For the remaining Old Firm derbies of the season, there will be no away fans present at Celtic Park or Ibrox.

Despite the disappointment of not having the usual raucous atmosphere created by visiting supporters, the decision was made with the safety and security of all fans in mind. Both clubs have had their fair share of issues in the past, with disagreements over ticket allocations leading to tension and unrest.

But this time around, it seems that both teams have put their differences aside and come to a mutual agreement. Reports suggest that discussions are ongoing regarding future allocations, but for the remaining two league clashes, there will be no away fans.

This news may come as a surprise to some, given the history between the two clubs. In 2019, Rangers reduced the number of briefs available to Celtic fans, causing tension and controversy. However, with the recent outbursts still affecting the area, it seems that safety concerns have taken precedence over any disagreements.

Football fans can still enjoy the games from the comfort of their own homes, with Sky Sports broadcasting the matches live. The Scottish Cup semi-final between the two teams on April 30 will still have a 50/50 split of fans at the national stadium, giving supporters the chance to cheer on their team in person.

So while the absence of away fans may be disappointing for some, it’s a necessary measure to ensure the safety and security of all involved. With both teams still battling it out for crucial points in the Scottish Premiership, the games are sure to be as fiercely contested as ever, and fans can still look forward to an exciting showdown.
