Public Transit Threatened in Glasgow Suburb Amid Rising Anti-Social Incidents First Bus Considers Altering Service in Pollok Following Police Recommendations.
In the Pollok district of Glasgow, evening bus services are at risk of being withdrawn due to escalating anti-social behavior. First Bus, the transport company responsible for the area, has been advised by Police Scotland to contemplate suspending services starting at 6pm in response to the growing problem.
This development follows a notable surge in anti-social incidents on the transit service, prompting First Bus to prioritize the safety of its staff and customers above all else. Graeme Macfarlan, Commercial Director at First Bus Scotland, expressed his concern regarding the situation, stating that the company always puts safety first.
Although no services have been discontinued yet, First Bus is closely monitoring the Pollok area, and Macfarlan warns that service withdrawal may become necessary if the disruptive behavior persists. The company remains committed to maintaining a secure environment for both employees and passengers, and any incidents of abuse or violence will be reported to Police Scotland immediately.
