Glasgow’s M8 Motorway Grinds to a Halt After Multi-Vehicle Accident Causes Lorry to Overturn Near the heart of Glasgow, a major traffic incident brought the M8 motorway to a standstill this morning when a lorry toppled over following a collision involving several vehicles.
The emergency response was swift as police and the Scottish Ambulance Service rushed to the scene of the accident, which occurred around 7:35 am close to Junction 13 on the vital thoroughfare. Consequently, a section of the M8 was shut down to ensure the safety of all motorists involved.

Traffic Scotland issued an update at around 8 am, cautioning drivers to anticipate delays of approximately 15 minutes. At this time, there has been no information released regarding any injuries sustained during the incident.
A spokesperson from Police Scotland reported, “Around 7:35 am on Thursday, April 20, police were called to a report of a road crash on the M8 westbound, near J13. The carriageway is closed and officers are at the scene.”
