Three new senior appointments have been made by Glasgow City Council, reflecting the council’s continued commitment to delivering quality, priority services to the citizens of our city.
The appointments and their roles are as follows:
- Martin Booth – Executive Director of Finance
- Bernadette Monaghan – Director of Community Empowerment and Equalities
- George Gillespie- Executive Director of Neighbourhoods and Sustainability
Councillor Susan Aitken, Leader of Glasgow City Council said: “I’m delighted to announce the new appointments – these are key roles that will help shape our future plans over the next five years and leading service departments that are crucial to help us all make Glasgow a city that every citizen can be proud of.
“Our priority themes that make our city flourish include promoting human rights and reduce inequalities across Glasgow, improve the life chances and choices for all our citizens, embed social justice in our policy making and empower our citizens, giving them a stake, and a say, in what happens in their local communities and communities of interest.
“The city government is committed to delivering for the people of Glasgow and I’m delighted to welcome the executive directors who I know will deliver in their new roles.”
The titles given to these roles reflect the themes and priorities contained in the council’s new strategic plan, which was agreed late last year.
