The identity of the man who tragically lost his life in a road accident over the weekend in Paisley town center has been revealed

A tragic incident occurred in Paisley, Renfrewshire over the weekend, when a pedestrian lost his life after being hit by a car. The victim has been identified as Stuart Crawford, a 37-year-old resident of the town. The accident took place at around 10:15 pm on Saturday when Stuart was walking on Causeyside Street and was hit by a silver Ford Fiesta. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene, and no other injuries were reported.

Police are currently investigating the incident and are appealing to the drivers of a red Ford Fiesta and a silver estate car, possibly a taxi, to come forward. These individuals may have witnessed the crash and can provide valuable information to help the investigation.

In addition, Sergeant Christopher Hoggan has urged anyone with dashcam footage or private CCTV to contact Police Scotland on the non-emergency line, as it may assist in the investigation. The road was closed for several hours to allow a full collision investigation to take place and was reopened in the early hours of the morning.

Our hearts go out to Stuart’s family and friends during this difficult time. If you have any information that can assist the investigation, please contact 101 and quote incident number 4151 of 11 March, 2023. Stay safe and aware on the roads, everyone.
