Glasgow Celebrates King Charles III’s Coronation Weekend With Festive Activities.
Glasgow is all set to commemorate the crowning of King Charles III on Sunday, May 7th, with a grand ceremony at George Square, followed by a majestic parade leading to the Glasgow Cathedral. Lord Lieutenant Jacqueline McLaren will officially represent the City of Glasgow in this regal affair.
At 9:45 am, George Square will host the Guard of Honour inspection, speeches, and a hearty three cheers for the newly crowned King and Queen, followed by the National Anthem. Subsequently, Lord Lieutenant McLaren will take The Salute as the military, cadets, and veterans march past the City Chambers.
The procession will continue to Glasgow Cathedral for an 11 am Thanksgiving Service. While media accreditation is not required, photography access within the Cathedral will be limited.
