This summer Glasgow Fort is inviting visitors to take a break between shops to enjoy live, local music as part of its ‘Summer Live’ programme.
The live performances from a line-up of local talent are taking place in Glasgow Fort’s newly created Summer Live area, outside Argos.
Shoppers will be able to enjoy a mix of acoustic, folk and original songs from a whole range of local performers, including Rebekah Kirk, Alice Faye and Andrea Louise.
Visitors to Glasgow Fort will be able to enjoy live music from 11am – 1pm and 2pm – 4pm every Thursday, Friday and Saturday until 14th August.
Phil Goodman, centre director at Glasgow Fort, said: “It’s great to be able to host live, local music at Glasgow Fort for the first time. Music is such a big part of Glasgow’s culture and heritage, so we’re proud to be able to give both established and new acts a stage on which they can share their music with our shoppers.
“We look forward to seeing friends and families enjoying the music in between browsing their favourite shops over the next month or so.”
Visitors to Glasgow Fort’s Summer Live event will also have the chance to win a £200 voucher and treat themselves to some new wardrobe essentials. To enter, snap a selfie at the rainbow floral archway at the entrance to the Summer Live area and share on Instagram using ‘#SummerliveGF’ and tagging @GlasgowFort.
To apply for a busking slot, budding local artists should send their details and videos of performances to: [email protected].
Glasgow Fort is open 10am – 10pm on weekdays, 9am – 7pm on Saturdays and 10am – 4pm on Sundays.
