Members pay tribute to homecarer Elaine McNeill

Glasgow City Council today paid tribute to care worker Elaine McNeill, who died earlier this year.

With members of Elaine’s family watching on from the public gallery, councillors unanimously backed a motion by Cllr Gary Gray, who described his constituent and neighbour as committed, kind and a favourite of those she cared for.

Elaine had been making her way to work during snowstorms on 28 February – an act friends and colleagues said was typical of her dedication to those she cared for.

Cllr Gray told the Chamber: “Elaine’s commitment to caring for those around her is a source of inspiration to us all.

“Going above and beyond the call of duty was a hallmark of Elaine’s 15-year career with Cordia.”
