With her mother, the Princess of Wales, facing health challenges, Princess Charlotte has been offering extraordinary assistance. The royal insider shared that Kate Middleton, a loving mother of three, has remained mostly out of the public eye as she undergoes treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer. This situation has stirred questions among royal followers regarding the family’s coping strategies.
While the royal family has kept most of the behind-the-scenes details private, it’s been shared that the children have been quite involved in providing support – with one youthful member of the royal family notably rising to the challenge of aiding her mother in recuperation. Jennie Bond, former Royal correspondent for the BBC, disclosed how Charlotte has been tending to her mother during this trying time.
She stated: “Each child is special in their way: George, the charmed firstborn, Charlotte the sole girl, and Louis, the youngest. But there’s something unique about the mother-daughter bond, and as she witnesses her mother facing illness, Charlotte’s relationship with her mum has likely grown even more profound.”
Jennie added that the nine-year-old princess demonstrated the same compassion as her mother, a trait that is visibly reflected in her actions.
In her words: “Charlotte is now at an age where she probably feels it’s her turn to care for her mother. Charlotte shows every sign of being a carbon copy of Catherine with her love for outdoor activities. As time lingers, I’m confident they’ll develop a bond that surpasses just a mother-daughter relationship but one that fosters companionship… much like Catherine and her mother Carole.”
Princess Charlotte has shown her supportive nature before. Last month, during the Trooping the Colour parade, Charlotte was spotted making a sweet gesture to Kate.
During this event, which occurred on June 15, the Duchess of Cambridge’s children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis – were seen alongside their mother despite the rain causing their carriage windows to fog up. They seemed intent on acknowledging their royal spectators from Glasgow and beyond.
Facing her mother’s current health issues, Charlotte demonstrated an impressive sense of responsibility, taking over the task of window-cleaning to ensure a clear view of their royal admirers, even when her mother paused.
However, maintaining a clear window wasn’t Charlotte’s only duty. She was also in charge of her playful younger brother, Prince Louis, keeping an eye on him to make sure he behaved while roaming around Glasgow.
During a chat on the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast, Kate offered some insight into her parenting style. She fondly recalled: “I was blessed with an amazing grandmother who devoted a lot of time to us – encouraging arts and crafts, gardening, and cooking with us. Today, I strive to give my children the same experiences she gave me.”
