Ex-U.S president Donald Trump evaded a potential assassination attempt at a political gathering in the U.S.

Reportedly, while addressing a crowd in Pennsylvania, the speaker was seen as though he had been struck in the right ear during a round of gunfire.

As stated by the Reuters News Agency, Trump’s skin was superficially grazed by the bullet, and the commotion resulted in one audience member and the individual believed to be the shooter losing their lives. A third individual was critically injured.

Following these shocking events, the Trump campaign made a formal statement affirming that the former president was “fine” after being hustled away from the podium by the secret service.

The campaign removed all doubts about the president’s condition with the following words: “President Trump wishes to express his gratitude towards the law enforcement personnel and first responders for their immediate, effective action against this abominable act,” communicated spokesperson Steven Cheung.

“He is in fine shape and is currently under observation at a nearby medical facility. Further specifics to be provided soon.”

During the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania – which was held right before the Republican National Convention set to take place on Monday – the former president had been demonstrating a chart depicting border crossing statistics, when sudden gunfire sent shockwaves through the attendants.

Trump was noticed instinctively reaching towards his neck and right ear in the wake of the startling sounds. His facial features suggested evidence of blood.

In the ensuing chaos, as screams echoed across the gathering of thousands, Trump was seen taking cover behind the stage podium, while agents from his protective service sped onto the stage.
