In a surprising turn of events, acclaimed singer Raye will not be able to entertain fans at an upcoming concert in Glasgow. She was previously slated to kick off the much-anticipated gig headlined by global sensation, SZA, at the OVO Hydro. However, due to health concerns, she has had to alter her plans.

Raye communicated this unfortunate news to her fans via a heartfelt Twitter post. In her statement, she expressed her regret and stated, “I find myself compelled to withdraw from the Glasgow concert, opening for SZA.”

Raye also shared details about her health struggle, mentioning that she has been undergoing rigorous treatment involving steroids and other medicines since her performance at Park Life. Despite her best efforts, her health hasn’t shown any improvement, necessitating this decision.

Raye’s relentless schedule since the start of the year, which included four tours and a whopping 133 performances scheduled for this year alone, appears to have taken a toll on her health. “I may have pushed my limits,” she admitted, expressing her disappointment at having to cancel shows – a decision she’d make only when left with no other choice.

“I’m absolutely crushed,” she confessed, revealing that she’s currently focusing on vocal rest and recovery. She also extended her deepest apologies to her fans, promising to do her best to regain her health and fulfill her commitments.

The OVO Hydro team also chimed in, extending their wishes for Raye’s swift recovery. They expressed their sadness at her inability to perform in Glasgow, saying, “We are saddened that Raye won’t be able to share her talent with us tomorrow night. We hope for your swift recovery, Raye, and look forward to the day you grace the OVO Hydro stage again!”

The SOS Tour concert is still scheduled to proceed tomorrow, with doors opening at 6.30pm. There are still tickets available for fans who wish to attend the performance.
