The Deliveroo Restaurant Awards 2024 have announced their winners, including several acclaimed food venues in Scotland.

The awards, announced on Tuesday, highlighted 10 remarkable Scottish eateries. These awards recognise the effort and innovation in independent restaurants across the UK and Scotland.

The majority of these Scottish laureates are based in Edinburgh. Out of the 10 neonates, eight are placed in Edinburgh, where Luxford Burgers emerged as the esteemed winner of the Independent Restaurant of the Year Scotland 2024 award.

The award-winning restaurant, Luxford Burgers, also bagged the Best Burger in Scotland award. They are recognized for their delectable fried chicken and beef burgers, loaded fries, flavourful milkshakes, and cocktails. The Luxford Burgers have established three outlets, two in the capital and one in Glasgow.

Alex Galpin, the founder of Luxford Burgers, expressed his excitement on this remarkable achievement. The Luxford Burgers team has been serving the Edinburgh community since 2020 and has expanded its delivery services to Glasgow, Manchester, Nottingham, and Leeds over the years.

The Luxford Burgers team aims to further expand its presence across the UK, and this award serves as a stepping stone towards that goal.

In addition, Salt & Chilli was hailed the Best Chinese in Scotland, while Matto Pizza took home the Best Pizza in Scotland award.

The last two Edinburgh restaurants to bag prizes at the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards 2024 are Buck’s Bar and Ting Thai; the former seized the Best Chicken in Scotland award, while the latter won the Best Thai in Scotland.

Apart from Edinburgh, Shakes n Cakes based in Aberdeen received the Best Dessert honour. The Best Breakfast & Coffee award was bagged by Café 100, also situated in Aberdeen.

Will Shu, the founder and CEO of Deliveroo, expressed his delight with the extraordinary finalists and winners of the Restaurant Awards. He added that Deliveroo is proud to collaborate with such an impressive range of dedicated restaurants that deliver a variety of world foods to doorsteps across the UK and Ireland.
