- Price: Wee plates £6 to £9.50, big plates £14 to £18 (the mac and cheese is £14.50), burgers £15 to £17.50 and pizzas £13 to £16. The chip shop section runs from £8.75 for kimchi loaded fries to £13.50 for the to-fish supper. Puddings are £6 to £7.50.

Stereo

A café bar by day and a club and gig venue by night, in a Charles Rennie Mackintosh building on Renfield Lane. It’s two steps from Central Station, so it’s handy before a train. - Price: Small plates £7.50 to £11, mains £17 to £18, burgers £14 and puddings £7.50 to £10. That makes it dearer than Suissi or The Glad Café. The lunch menu (noon to 4pm) has soup for £7.20 and sandwiches for £11.
- Open: Noon to midnight Sunday to Thursday. From Thursday to Saturday it can run until 3am on event nights, so check their listings. Food is served until 9pm every day.
- Where: 22 to 28 Renfield Lane, G2 5AR. Groups of more than six phone to book. stereocafebar.com
